In summer 2024 the survey was initiated in Kyiv and 66% of respondents voted for increasing the areas without mowing and with various grasses and field plants. In total more than 22000 people voted for this.

The responsible department of Kyiv Administration is already in contact with Municipal Greening company KyivZelenbud, district administrations of Kyiv and managing companies to inform them about the results of the voting and to initiate the work on the increasing the number on no-mow plots.

The process of creating new plots without mowing requires organizational measures from the city and sufficient explanatory work, since not all the residents understand the importance of such plots for city biodiversity.  There is also a need to control the spreading of quarantine plants.
