Here you can see the reports of the events and activities which took place with support / participation of the Agricultural Office in Ukraine. These events are also recommended for the Dutch companies for the development of their business activities in Ukraine.
2021.01.28 - Webinar "What if we reduce our environmental footprint through Design?"
Organized by NGO ReThink with Ingrid van der Wacht.
As we know from the EU’s Circular Economy Action Plan, nearly 80% of product’s environmental impact is being determined already on a design stage. This understanding leads to a significant rethink of a designers’ role in our society – no matter if we talk about product designers, architects, industrial designers, urbanists, fashion, interior or events designers. For years the Dutch Design Week event, organized by the Dutch Design Foundation, has been promoting the design of the future and for the future. The biggest design event in Northern Europe presents work and ideas of more than 2600 designers to more than 350,000 visitors from dozens of countries. In more than 110 locations across Eindhoven, DDW organizes and facilitates exhibitions, lectures, prize ceremonies, networking events, debates and festivities. For the last three years the topics of sustainable, green and circular design were especially strongly incorporated into the philosophy and agenda of the DDW. In 2018 the theme of the event was ‘If not us, then who?’, underlining the role of designers in shaping a better world tomorrow. In 2019 the theme developed to ‘If not NOW, then WHEN?’ – literally calling to action in a fast growing world with obvious limitations and obstacles. During our webinar with Ingrid van der Wacht, Head of International & Public Affairs at the Dutch Design Foundation we discussed the newest trends in design for the future, importance of circular design and some of the brightest works of recent years from the DDW. We hope this will inspire you to dream, create, initiate, and act! Up to a better year!
2021.02.10 - Final of Incredible Villages Competition
The village of Malomykolayivka, Dnipropetrovsk region, won the V All-Ukrainian competition "Incredible Villages of Ukraine 2020" and received the main prize - UAH 100,000 for a business project from the main partner - the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ukraine. Read more
2021.02.16-18 NL Pavilion at International Exhibition AgroSpring 2021
7 Dutch companies and their Ukrainian representatives of TOP sector AgriFood and Horticulture joined the Netherlands Pavilion at the Agro Spring trade fair (including exhibitions Agro Animal Show, GrainTech and Fruits, Vegetables & Logistics) from 16-18 February 2021 in Kyiv, Ukraine. Read more
2021.02.24 - XI Dutch-Ukrainian Potato Forum
The event is organized by the Association of Potato Producers of Ukraine, UCAB Events and supported by the Office of the Agricultural Councellor of The Netherlands Embassy in Ukraine.
2021.02.25 - Webinar: Amsterdam's Journey to a Circular City
The webinar was organized by NGO ReThink with support of the Netherlands Embassy in Kyiv. During our webinar with Marieke van Doorninck, Deputy Mayor of Amsterdam for Spatial Development and Sustainability talked about the practical experience of the City of Amsterdam in implementing circularity.
2021.02.25 - working meeting on Dairy family farms in Dunaivtsi, Khmelnytskyi region
In the framework of cooperation between Dunaivtsi community in Khmelnytskyi region and the Office of the Agricultural Counsellor in Ukraine the working meeting with the owners of the family dairy farms and representatives of Lviv Agrarian Advisory Service Mr. Ivan pankiv and Mr. Mykhailo Vyshnivskyi was organized on 25 February 2021.
2021.02.25 - Agroecology forum AgroGreenDeal 2021.
The international forum "AgroGreenDeal-2021" took place in Kyiv on February 25, 2021.
The event was with the online broadcast.
The forum was initiated by the Professional Association of Ecologists of Ukraine and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ukraine, with the support of International Chamber of Commerce of Ukraine and European Business Association.
More than 30 Ukrainian and European experts spoke during the event. They discussed the impact of the EU Green Deal on the agricultural sector and solutions for businesses to address key challenges.

2020.03.11 International Online Seed Forum
On March 11,2021, the International Online Seed Forum was organized by the Ukrainian Seed Association, Information Agency APK inform, and the Netherlands Embassy in Ukraine. The event gathered 186 participants from 21 countries. 12 speakers shared their vision on the actual issues in the seed sector.

2021.04.08 - Round table on public greening in Ukraine
Round table “Current state and problems of landscaping in settlements. Legislative regulation of landscaping in amalgamated hromadas” was organized by The Committee on State Building, Local Governance, Regional and Urban Development of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on 8 April 2021.
The Agricultural Counsellor of the Netherlands Embassy in Ukraine Mr Reinoud Nuijten and the Coordinator of the PIB Project "Green City Ukraine" Rob van Raaij took part in the panel discussion 4: "Public participation in the creation and reconstruction of the territories of improvement, practical problems of the implementation and operation of landscaping. Suggestions for improving the legislation"
2021.03.27 - Tree planting with the Dutch companies in Ukraine
Joint efforts of the Dutch business in Ukraine to support adaptation to climate change. On March 27 the representatives of the companies AirFrance KLM and MOQOD with the Netherlands Embassy in Ukraine planted trees in Dobropark near Kyiv. Read more:
2021.04.15 - EBA Inovation Day
During the EBA Innovation Day, which took place on April 15, representatives of innovative industries presented their vision of future trends. This event has already become traditional for us, as technological progress is gaining momentum, and it is important to form an active community around innovation which will enable an efficient experience exchange that helps business and society to keep up with times.
2021.04.24 - Dutch tulips for Ukrainian medical professionals
Jennes de Mol, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ukraine, presented 600 pots with beautiful Dutch tulips to the employees of Oleksandrivska hospital and Kyiv clinical hospital #6 on the 27th of April 2021. Read more
2021-04-17 Organic Ukraine Congress.
The event was organized by the request of organic business, under the patronage of Ministry for Development of Economy, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine, supported by Swiss-Ukrainian program «Development of Trade with Higher Added Value in Organic and Dairy Sectors of Ukraine» (Quality FOOD Trade Program), implemented by the Research Institute of Organic Agriculture (FiBL, Switzerland) in partnership with SAFOSO AG (Switzerland), and German-Ukrainian project «Cooperation in the Field of Organic Agriculture». https://organicukraine.org.ua/congress/2021/en/

2021.06.1-2 - XIV International Dairy Congress
Dairy producers, suppliers of equipment and technologies, government officials gathered together to discuss how they can create an efficient supply chain in the dairy sector and what is to be done to overcome major challenges in it.
2021.07 - Boerenverstand Podcast
Een consequentie van de transitie waar de landbouw zich in bevindt, is dat sommige Nederlandse boeren overwegen of besluiten hun heil in het buitenland te zoeken. In de Boerenverstand Podcast spreken Lilia Planjyan en Joëlle van den Brand met Reinoud Nuijten, landbouwraad Oekraïne. In de Podcast legt hij uit waarom Oekraïne zo’n belangrijk land is als het gaat om de landbouwsector en vertelt hij meer over de ervaringen en kansen voor Nederlandse boeren in Oekraïne.

2021.08.26 - All Ukrainian Potato Day
All-Ukrainian Potato Day "Potato Blockecain-2021" took place on August 26-27, 2021 on the basis of Farm "Adelaide" (village Chulakivka Kherson region). The organizers of the event were "DLG Ukraine", Farm "Adelaida", Ukrainian Association of Potato Producers (UAVK). The event was supported by the Office of the Agricultural Counsellor of the Netherlands Embassy in Ukraine.
2021.09.02 - Webinar: Organic waste in Cities: recovering value for fertilizer, energy or insect protein?
Significant part of our solid waste still ends up at landfills, without any value recovery. This applies to both plastic products that decompose for hundreds of years, and organic biodegradable waste, which in the process of fermentation in the landfill emits a dangerous harmful gas - methane.
At the webinar Mr. Philip Troost from Bio Hub, The Netherlands will tell about: What are the technologies of organic processing and which are the most effective; What is the best way to recycle organics in terms of maximizing value.
2021.09.16 - Floristic Competition: Christmas Fairy Show. Kyiv
"Creating beauty, let's take care of the environment!". The national competition of florists of Ukraine "Christmas Fair Tale - 2021" took place on September 15-16, 2021 as part of the exhibition of Christmas products and seasonal decor Christmas_trade_show. The event is organized by the Association of Ukrainian Florists and Parus Expo Media. As part of the competition, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ukraine helped launch an environmental project in the floristic sector aimed at the disposal of plant waste. The purpose of the event was to draw the attention of florists and flower shops to the environmental problems, responsible choice of materials, awareness of the need for recycling and proper disposal of waste. The Embassy's initiative within the framework of the Competition was supported by the Dutch company Flower Circus and a young Kyiv company GreenAge, which specializes in sorting bio and other waste. 2021.09.17 - Opening of Lely Robotic Farm of the Future in Ukraine.
On September 17, 2021 the grand opening of the second phase of the Lely Robotic Farm took place in the village Pochuyky, Popilnya district, Zhytomyr region on the basis of "Ukraine" farm, which is part of the Group of Companies Eridon.
The event was organized by “Eridon” and “L Ukraine LLC”, dealer of Lely in Ukraine, and with participation of a collective stand of the Dutch companies organized with support of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ukraine. Read more
2021.09.18 - NL Water Cleanup Day
The Embassy Kyiv team joined NL Waterway Cleanup initiative and cleaned a path to Yordanske lake in Kyiv.
2021.09.18 - XIII All-Ukrainian Organic Fair
Organic sector is an important compoment of Ukrainian export to EU.
At the Organic Fair producers from all over Ukraine presented certified organic vegetables, fruits, berries, dairy and meat products, cereals, flour, oils, honey, juices, drinks, syrups, mushrooms, jams and much more!
The event was supported by the Netherlands Embassy in Ukraine and attened by the Deputy Head of Mission Pieter van Vliet. Read more
2021.09.19 - Dunaivtsi City Day
Since 2019 when the small village Lysets won the competition Incredible Villages of Ukraine supported by the Dutch Embassy in Kyiv there were number of projects successfully implemented by the local cooperative Yagidnyi Ray in cooperation with representatives of Dutch companies in Ukraine. These projects include production of berries, vegetables and development of family dairy farms.
It was great to visit the cooperative in autumn to discuss the results of the season 2021. The visit was also devoted to the celebration of the City Day of Dunaivtsi, which gathered many friends and business partners of local community. Read more
2021.10.02 - Pumpkin Fest in Malomykolaivka
Pumpkin Fest is a new perspective for the rural areas in their transition from coal mining towards more eco-friendly alternatives, entrepreneurship and sustainable production. Embassy colleagues from the agriculture and political departments visited the village of Malomykolayivka in Dnipro region, supported in the competition "Incredible Villages of Ukraine". The village celebrated its 245th birthday with their annual Pumpkin Fest.
2021.11.04 - Circular Restaurants in the Food System of a Sustainable City - Albron, Green House, Klopotenko, ReThink Ukraine
HoReCa is a very important channel to pay attention if we want to establish a circular food system in cities and beyond. It's great to see bright examples of a circular restaurant like Green House in Utrecht, The Netherlands. Our webinar is a collaboration of the Dutch restaurant, Ukrainian Chef, NGO and Embassy who joint theri efforts to promote Circular Restaurants in the Food System of a Sustainable City. Read more
