Sector specific platforms of RVO
The Agrifood platform is one of the three sector specific platforms that was initiated by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO), commissioned by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The goal is to assist Ukraine and counter some of the adverse impact on agriculture and food security, caused by the ongoing full-scale war. The other two platforms are focused on Health Care Recovery and Water. In addition, the European Commission has established a platform for Transport and logistics.
Activities of the Agrifood platform
The Agrifood platform Ukraine provides information to stakeholders, organizes networking opportunities, and focuses on setting up a cluster approach for specific agricultural sectors.
Different organizations such as private sector companies, knowledge institutions, financial instutions, governmental organizations and NGOs are invited to our physical and online platform meetings, where successful examples of public-private partnerships and other relevant initiatives are presented. This is also where the platform shares relevant information about risk management and financial opportunities. Regularly we will send out a newsletter in which we communicate about relevant updates on the circumstances of doing business in Ukraine, meeting minutes and new partnerships.
To collect and provide relevant information to stakeholders, the Agrifood platform maintains close contact with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Kyiv, the Ukrainian Embassy in The Hague, ministries of Foreign Affairs (BZ) and Agriculture (LVVN) and the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO). We disseminate relevant information within the platform.
Do you have any information that you wish to share with the Agrifood platform?

Cluster approach
One key aspect is the development of sector specific clusters of Dutch companies and sometimes other organizations in line with the needs of Ukraine and the policy of the Netherlands’ government, and by providing them with up-to-date information on the risks posed by the war.
The Agrifood platform Ukraine is currently looking for committed Dutch organizations that are (or want to become) active in the Dairy and Covered cultivation (greenhouse & horticulture) sectors in Ukraine. Our aim is to form Dutch clusters of companies, making it easier for Ukrainian companies and governmental organizations to find Dutch companies and their specific skills and knowledge.
Are you interested in joining one of these clusters or are you motivated to start a cluster on another topic? Please get in touch with the Agrifood platform via e-mail.
Communication
Through the private LinkedIn page of the platform, platform members can easily get in touch with each other outside of platform events which enables companies to connect swiftly to relevant stakeholders. An open LinkedIn page and Facebook page will be started up in 2025, to improve visibility of the platform’s efforts, in the Netherlands but especially also in Ukraine.
Are you organizing or joining an agrifood-related online or physical event?
Please inform us so we can disseminate this information to the agrifood platform members.
Incoming trade missions
If your organization is hosting an incoming trade mission to improve collaboration between Ukrainian and Dutch parties related to agricultural and food topics, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. The Agrifood platform is not able to co-organize your incoming trade mission but can use valuable experience with previous incoming missions to help you with advice and the content of the program. Incoming missions are categorized into introductory, agrifood-specific and sector-specific.
Are you organizing an agrifood-related incoming mission to the Netherlands? Please inform us so we can facilitate you with the content of the program.
