Kazakhstan explores space technologies in agricultural area
The Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, Aidarbek Saparov, visited the National Space Center to explore how space monitoring can enhance the country’s agro-industrial sector.

Specialists from Kazkosmos discussed the use of satellite data for monitoring crop conditions, pasture lands, and water consumption. They also presented results from agricultural land monitoring using Earth remote sensing data.
The Minister instructed a comparative assessment of space monitoring data from Kazkosmos and the Ministry of Agriculture to align agricultural land assessments and resolve discrepancies in sowing areas, yields, and water usage. Additionally, digital platforms like Agrospace, JerInSpectr, and Agrogharysh were introduced to automate agricultural processes, ensure compliance with land use regulations, and integrate satellite data into the Agricultural Traceability Information System.
The Minister emphasized the need to expand space monitoring, integrate remote sensing data with state systems, and incorporate AI and big data analytics to improve industry efficiency.
