Kazakhstan will launch production of agrodrones
The Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan signed a memorandum with the Chinese company Eavision for the import of 80 agrodrons. These devices will be sold among agricultural producers to carry out treatments against pests and dangerous plant diseases. These drons will be assembled on the territory of the “Alatau” IT Park by the joint Kazakhstan-Chinese enterprise Sunkar Eavision International LLP, according to the press-service of the government.
Serik Zhumangarin, the Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan tasked the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry to study the possibility of developing its own software for managong agricultural drones.
As the government noted, the experience of using agrodrones in more than 100 countries around the world shows significant advantages of using unmanned aerial vehicles instead of ground sprayers. It allows to save water, to reduce CO2 emission, drones can cultivate and monitor the land in hard-to-reach areas and they can fly during any weather and time of day, during rain and at night.
Following the meeting, Serik Zhumangarin instructed the Ministry of Agriculture to develop a roadmap for the development and implementation of agrodrones in agriculture by the end of February 2025, taking into account the selection or development of the necessary software, the creation of service centers, and the training of specialists, mainly from rural youth, to work with UAVs. KazAgroFinance was instructed to work out measures to support farmers for the purchase of agrodrons within the available funds.
