Leading agricultural associations in Kyrgyzstan signed a document on food security

A landmark event for the country’s agro-industrial complex took place in Bishkek. Leading associations and unions of the agricultural sector signed the charter “Agro-industrial complex of Kyrgyzstan as the basis of the country’s food security.”

  • Association for the Development of the Agro-Industrial Complex of the Kyrgyz Republic;
  • Association of Poultry Farmers of the Kyrgyz Republic;
  • Association of Berry Growers of the Kyrgyz Republic;
  • Association of Corn Growers of the Kyrgyz Republic;
  • Association of Flour Manufactures of Kyrgyzstan;
  • Dairy Association of Kyrgyzstan;
  • Union of Gardeners of Central Asia;
  • Kyrgyz Association of Fertilizers Suppliers.

This event marked a new stage in ensuring food security and sustainable development of the agro-industrial sector of the republic.

The Charter is the result of tremendous collaboration between farmers, food and processing industries, as well as organizations and unions in the agro-industrial complex. The associations that signed the document unanimously supported the common aim of strengthening the country’s food security and ensuring sustainable development of the agro-industrial complex within the framework of implementation of the Decree of the Kyrgyz President “On measures for further development of agro-industrial complex.”

The Charter will become a fundamental document for the implementation of the state task of providing the population of Kyrgyzstan with basic food products.

The document emphasizes the need to develop domestic production, increase the efficiency of the cluster development program for the agro-industrial complex and introduce modern technologies aimed at achieving food independence of the country.

The associations that signed the Charter act as a united force in the agricultural sector by uniting in the Agroalliance. This powerful union demonstrates their readiness to consolidate efforts, support domestic producers, introduce advanced innovations and raise standards of food quality and safety.

The key aims of the Charter are promoting the sustainable development of agriculture and the processing industry, ensuring the availability of safe food products for every citizen of the country, developing partnerships between the state and agrarian enterprises, as well as improving the legal and policy framework in the field of food security.

The Charter is open for all domestic agricultural producers, unions, associations interested in the dynamic development of the agro-industrial complex of Kyrgyzstan.
