17 HPAI outbreaks in Poland
HIGHLIGHT: 17 HPAI outbreaks in Poland in 2020. Slaskie province affected with HPAI.
Based on the results of tests obtained from the National Reference Laboratory for avian influenza, new outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) H5N8 in poultry were noted in the territory of the Republic of Poland.
Outbreak No. 2020/16 was designated on a farm where 36,183 turkey hens were kept, located in Stary Widzim, in the Wolsztyn commune, in the Wolsztyn district, in Wielkopolskie province. H5N8 virus was detected on a farm with four hen houses in which a total of approx. 36,000 pieces of poultry were kept.
Outbreak No. 2020/17 was designated in a non-commercial farm where 63 hens were kept, located in Ruda Kozielska, in the Kuźnia Raciborska commune, in the Racibórz district, in the Śląskie Province.
So far 6 provinces are affected: Lubelskie province, Wielkopolskie province, Zachodniopomorskie province, Dolnoslaskie province, Warminsko-Mazurskie province and Slaskie province.
