Ukraine will register Protected Designations of Origin and Georgraphical Indications
In line with the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement, the Government of Ukraine is developing the geographical indications system.

Recently, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine has approved the list of priority geographical indications. The experts team from the EU-funded project will be assisting in the registration process.
The first Ukrainian GIs products (given are working names) will be:
wine - PDO Shabskyi
wine - PDO Yalpuh
cheese - PDO Hutsul Sheep Bryndzya
watermelon - PDO Kherson Watermelon
cherries - PDO Melitopol Cherries
honey - PGI Carpathian Honey
wine - PGI Zakarpattia
wine - PGI Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi
