Flower Business and Dutch-Ukrainian Cooperation PSD Study
"The partnership between Ukraine and the Netherlands in flower sector is already very strong. None other sector has such tight relations between our counties like floriculture" mentioned Ambassador Ed Hoeks at the opening of the Camelia Park in Ukraine on May 31.
Interests of the Dutch companies
Flower business in Ukraine very much depends on the economic situation and the fact that there are visible improvements in the trade and activities in the sector mean that the economic situate also improves.
The growing number of the trade requests from the Dutch producers and suppliers of the floricultural products to the Agricultural Office in Kyiv also signal about the growing interest of the Dutch business in Ukraine.
PSD study - Ornamental Sector of Ukraine
In order to satisfy the growing interest of the Dutch business in Ukraine and in order to support the Ukrainian flower business to adopt the international standards and business models the Embassy initiated the PSD projects "Research of the Ukrainian ornamental sector" where the market situation as well as the key players from the following sub-sectors will be presented:
- Cut flowers,
- potted flowers,
- flower bulbs,
- ornamental plants
The report is expected by the end of the year. It will be based on the voluntarily interview of the Ukrainian and Dutch companies which will be summarized and processed by the International company Kleffmann Group.
The companies who take part in the research by sharing their sector information and knowledge will exclusively receive the report first.
The experts who participated in the research could decide if they want to be named or if they want to be anonymous. The final report would be adjusted by all participants then published.
Participants (those who would be or already interviewed for the research) would be invited to the common seminar where the results would be discussed.

Opening Camelia Park
Camellia park is a private initiative of the Camellia Corporation - one of the largest flower importer and producer in Ukraine. The company has almost 25 years of experience in cooperation with the Netherlands and this year they launched the park where all their assortment of flowers and plant can be not only seen but the location already became the great photo site for the Ukrainians.
