First Dutch Pavilion at ANTAD, Mexico’s leading retail and food service show
Holland House Mexico – the Dutch-Mexican Chamber of Commerce – will organize the first Dutch pavilion at the Expo ANTAD & Alimentaria, Mexico’s leading industry event for retail and food service, to be held from 17 to 19 May 2022 in the city of Guadalajara.
Mexico's 125+ million inhabitants and its growing middle class offer a lot of potential for companies focused on consumer goods: Mexico currently ranks as the 15th largest economy in the world and the second largest economy of Latin America. Its hospitality and tourism are longstanding and prospering industries and its food industry has been growing for many years. Additionally, the growth of its middle class has led to a higher standard of living in the country and to an increased demand for higher quality foods.
Current trends in the Mexican food industry include a growing demand for gourmet, innovative, healthy, and organic products. The COVID-19 pandemic accelerated many of these trends and have shifted the consumption habits of many middle-class Mexicans towards maintaining a healthy lifestyle through a balanced diet, and towards more organic, plant-based, and low-sugar products. The pandemic also paved the way for exponential growth in delivery and e-commerce in the food retail sector. Demand for international food and fine foods is also on the rise in Mexico.
Given this promising outlook and the opportunities in the Mexican market, Holland House Mexico, the Dutch-Mexican Chamber of Commerce, will organize the first Dutch pavilion at Mexico’s primary retail and food service trade show, the Expo ANTAD & Alimentaria, which will be held from 17 to 19 May in the city of Guadalajara. More than 9.300 buyers are expected to come to this event with an exhibiting floor of over 55.000 m2. Dutch food companies interested in participating in this pavilion and in the local market knowledge and services of Holland House Mexico, are invited to contact Florencia Cantu at florencia@hollandhousemexico.com.
On 24 March, Holland House Mexico will also organize a webinar to highlight opportunities for Dutch food companies in Mexico’s retail and food service in more detail. Follow this link for more information about this webinar.
