Iran Agrofood Exports on the Rise
According to the Iran's Customs Authority, the country's agrifood exports increased by 7.2% last year despite sanctions and COVID restrictions on trade. Main export items included pistachio, tomato paste, biscuits and confections while main destinations were China, Iraq, Russia and Afghanistan, said the report by the Iran Customs Authority.
Agricultural in Iran output rose to over 130 million tons last farming year, up 32 percent compared to the same period in 2019. And as demand in neighboring countries has risen significantly, Iranian farmers have benefited considerably from growing demand and export.
