2017.09.21 - V Dutch Dairy Day
The Dutch Dairy Day 2017 was held in Kyiv region at Rozvolozhzhja dairy farm on 21 September. 180 representatives of leading Ukrainian dairy farms participated in the workshops on Dutch innovations and best practices in optimizing daily dairy operations: feeding, forage production and “measuring is knowing”. Absolute novelty this year: the Linear Scoring and Stress Free Stockmanship sessions were conducted by major Dutch dairy experts.
Traditionally, the Vth Dutch Dairy Day in Ukraine was organized by the Dutch-Ukrainian Dairy Center, Association of Dairy Producers of Ukraine and Dykun company with support from the Embassy of the Netherlands in Ukraine.
The Dutch Agricultural Counselor Carolien Spaans and the vice-president of Association of Dairy Producers of Ukraine Lubomyr Dykun opened the V Dutch Dairy Day.
During the workshop on Forage Production visitors went to the field with NutriFiebre (grass) and Lucerne. The visitors learned about special features of the grass and Lucerne as well as the results of the feed analysis. Guests could see how to use satellite monitoring to improve the management of grass and Lucerne.

The workshop on Feeding was devoted to the tools and explanation how to make sure that the digested ration is a close as possible to the calculated ration. At this workshop manure scoring, ration scoring, the use of the TMR tracker and the way how to load and mix the ration for an optimal result were demonstrated.

At the workshop “Measuring is knowing” “Uniform Agri” demonstrated and explained their farm-management program. Companies saw how to use collected data about milkrecording, fertility etc. Anna Kachurets presented Cow management system.

Five cows were demonstrated to the guests within detailed explanation of linear scoring and for independent mating advice. Participants could rank the cows themselves based on expert characteristics.
The cow signal training with elements of stress free stockmanship was given by the Dutch expert. Students from Bila Tserkva National Agrarian University had a chance to participate in the cow show assisting the expert by manage the cows first time in their life. Each of student received “Cow signal” book from the Difco NL for their excellent service during the cow show.
