Poland: record import of tomatoes from the Netherlands
From January 1 to November 2024, the import of fresh tomatoes to Poland was record-breaking and amounted to almost 218 thousand tons. Almost 40% of tomato supplies come from the Netherlands.
From January to November 2024 - according to the Polish Statistical Office - the import of fresh tomatoes from Poland amounted to exactly 217.77 thousand tons.
Among all of them, the Netherlands has a significant advantage over others and is responsible for almost 40% of supplies in the past year. From the beginning of the year to November 2024, the Netherlands imported 84.80 thousand tons to Poland and thus in 11 months exceeded the export volume from the whole of 2023, which amounted to 80.25 thousand tons of tomatoes.
To assess the scale of Dutch import, it is worth mentioning Spain, which delivered 40.65 thousand tons of tomatoes to Poland in 11 months, and Morocco 32.97 thousand tons.
In November alone, 4.9 thousand tons of tomatoes came to Poland from the Netherlands.
The largest delivery of tomatoes from the Netherlands took place in May 2024 and amounted to 14.76 thousand tons.

In the eleven months of 2024, tomatoes came to Poland from as many as 33 countries from all over the world. After the Netherlands, the next countries with the largest imports of tomatoes to our country are:
- Morocco - 4.8 thousand tons
- Spain - 2.7 thousand tons
- Germany - 2.4 thousand tons
- Turkey - 1.3 thousand tons
