ASF of wild boars in Poland is gaining momentum. More than 100 new outbreaks of the disease
Over the past seven days, more than 100 wild boar ASF outbreaks have been reported in Poland. Most of them occurred in the Pomeranian Voivodeship (North Poland).
The surge in wild boar ASF outbreaks is not an unusual occurrence at this time. For years at the turn of autumn and winter we have seen an increase in the number of new cases. This time, most outbreaks were confirmed in the Pomeranian Voivodeship, although it should be added that the disease also appeared in nine other voivodeships.
In total, in 102 outbreaks of ASF, traces of the virus were confirmed in tissues taken from 175 wild boars.
Since the beginning of the year, 1780 ASF outbreaks have been confirmed in Poland. They occurred in 13 provinces. Only Lodz, Silesia and Lesser Poland provinces remained free of the disease.
