Bluetongue in Poland
The first bluetonge outbreak in Poland, was found on November 22, 2024.
Based on the results of tests carried out by the State Veterinary Institute in Puławy in the village of Rajczyn (Lower Silesia province, western-southern Poland). The outbreak occurred in a beef cattle herd of 31 head.
The Chief Veterinarian issued a statement and indicated, no restrictions on zoonotic products are in effect. The infection in the herd is asymptomatic, with the animals showing no clinical signs of disease.
