"The sustainable development of the agro-industrial complex is the key to our food security, and therefore the government will continue to support agriculture, which employs more than 1 million of our citizens," Bektenov stressed.

This year, for the first time, the volume of concessional financing of the industry was increased more than three times and brought to a record 580 billion tenge. These funds are directed to farmers for direct lending, cheaper interest rates and forward purchase. The reduction in the cost of the remuneration rate was carried out at the stage of attracting commercial funds by Baiterek Holding.

Next year, a similar mechanism will be launched with the financing of processing enterprises. In general, the state provides comprehensive assistance to agribusiness at all stages from the purchase of seeds and fertilisers to export support.

Special attention was paid to the issue of preferential financing for the purchase of agricultural machinery.

"The government has significantly increased the amount of allocated funds this year, which allowed more than 2 thousand agricultural producers to upgrade the existing fleet. Farmers of the country purchased about 20 thousand units of agricultural machinery, the level of renewal was 5%. This indicator is planned to be increased to 5.5% by the end of this year, and to 6.5% next year. Taking into account the needs of the domestic market, it was instructed to ensure the capacity building of Kazakhstani enterprises for the production of agricultural machinery," the press service informed.
