The Ministry of Agriculture plans to start digitizing the processes of passing agricultural goods across the border of Kazakhstan (export-import). This was reported in the press service of the department. It is noted that these measures will ensure end-to-end traceability of all livestock products, electronic certification of animals and goods of animal origin, as well as track their movement.

A pilot project on traceability of livestock products is currently being implemented. This year, the implementation of the module "Veterinary and sanitary examination of meat" will be completed in all regions and cities of national significance, which will automate the process of issuing examination certificates and ensure the traceability of the animal's life cycle.

A new digital system is also being developed quarantine and quotas for the traceability of the full cycle of quarantine when exporting animals outside Kazakhstan. The system is scheduled to be launched this month.

Minister of Agriculture Aidarbek Saparov, at an off-site meeting on veterinary safety in the Almaty region, noted a number of shortcomings in the work of the veterinary service of the region, including uncontrolled movement of animals, untimely coverage of animals with diagnostic tests, non-compliance by owners with regulations on the delivery of sick animals for sanitary slaughter.

The quality of the work of veterinarians was criticized.

"It is necessary to strengthen the work of veterinary services in the field. Veterinarians of the MIO should carry out the identification of animals, explanatory work on safety measures among the population. Total control of all farms is required to exclude cases of the disease," Saparov stressed.

Special attention was also paid at the meeting to the prevention and elimination of foci of acute infectious diseases. In this regard, it was noted that it is necessary to accelerate work on providing all regions with veterinary points, animal burial grounds/incinerators and slaughter facilities in accordance with the Concept of agricultural development for 2021-2030. "To date, only the North Kazakhstan region and the Zhetysu region are working in this direction, in a number of other regions the work is partially underway," the minister stressed, instructing to create a working group to monitor the implementation of indicators of veterinary services of administrations.

Heads of territorial inspections of a number of regions have been reprimanded for weak control.
