New Agrospecial on the impact of EU Deforestation Regulation worldwide
The 11th edition of Agrospecial e-magazine ‘Impact of EU Deforestation Regulation worldwide’ showcases the opportunities and challenges associated with the EUDR from the perspective of the LNV Attaché Network (LAN). They introduce us to their related work, provide insights into what is happening in their respective countries, and showcase examples of projects and actions the LAN is taking in promoting sustainable supply chains and responsible business conduct. Once again, cooperation is key, the LAN plays a crucial role in this work.
This groundbreaking regulation mandates that companies demonstrate that their products are deforestation-free and not linked to forest degradation. It applies to commodities such as cocoa, coffee, soy, oil palm, wood, rubber, and cattle, along with their derivatives and products made using these commodities, including chocolate, palm oil, and leather.
The Netherlands, as the EU’s largest importer and processor of these commodities, plays a key role in global supply chains that fall under the EUDR. If the EUDR is to deliver on its promise and potential, implementation of this regulation and continued cooperation with the private sector, producer governments, civil society, knowledge institutes and multilateral organizations are key.
The 11th edition of the Agrospecial e-magazine dives deep into the opportunities and challenges posed by the EUDR, featuring insights from the LAN. This edition highlights the actions and projects undertaken by LAN to promote sustainable supply chains and responsible business conduct in light of the EUDR.
We invite all stakeholders and policymakers at different levels to engage with the issues addressed in this Agrospecial to better understand the transformative efforts underway and to explore avenues for collaboration towards a more sustainable supply chain and equitable global marketplace.
