Nine Dutch companies sign MoU's with Kazakh counterparts

Nine leading Dutch companies signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with their Kazakh counterparts in a ceremony held on the morning of May 10th 2024. The event was attended by Kazakhstan's Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Roman Vassilenko, and the Netherlands' Ambassador to Kazakhstan, Nico Schermers.

Contents of the MoU's

The ceremony showed the growing level of cooperation between the two nations, particularly in the fields of agriculture, healthcare, ecology, transport, and logistics. This initiative was supported by the Embassy of the Netherlands in Kazakhstan and KAZAKH INVEST National Company JSC.

Among the notable agreements, Naktuinbouw and Royal GD signed an MoU with Kazakhstan's Minister of Agriculture, Yerbol Karashukeyev. The Dutch companies' involvement aims to enhance Kazakhstan's agricultural and veterinary sectors, leveraging Dutch expertise in these fields. The VISCON Company and the Kazakh Agriculture Ministry entered into an MoU to develop an AI-assisted, virus-free planting stock automated production center. Scheduled for development from 2024 to 2026, this center aims to produce 12 million young plants annually, significantly boosting crop yield and quality while ensuring food security. Royal GD also signed a document to improve Kazakhstan’s veterinary system, showcasing the Netherlands' commitment to advancing Kazakhstan’s agricultural capabilities.

Other areas of cooperation

In the healthcare sector, the Kazakh Ministry of Healthcare and Royal Philips signed a cooperation memorandum to localize the production of portable ultrasonic diagnostic apparatuses in Kazakhstan. This agreement is expected to enhance the country's medical technology landscape, making advanced diagnostic tools more accessible.

Additional agreements included a memorandum on carbon credits in the Kyzylorda region, a memorandum on the development of telemedicine projects, and a memorandum on fishery development, reflecting a diverse range of collaborative efforts aimed at sustainable development and technological advancement.

The Netherlands Flower Consortium Decorum also contributed by providing fresh bouquets of flowers to be displayed. The flowers were brought from the Netherlands, especially for the event.
