The International Horticultural Exhibition 2024 in Chengdu (China) is coming!

The International Horticultural Exhibition 2024 Chengdu (Chengdu Horti Expo) will be held from April 26 - October 28. With the theme of this years expo being 'Park City, Happy Chengdu' , the expo will showcase and spread the concepts of green, low-carbon, sustainable conservation, sharing and inclusiveness.

The Netherlands, known as the Flower Kingdom, will organize a Dutch pavilion at the expo, as well as a horticultural roadshow. Both are organized by the LNV department of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in China and the NBSO Chengdu office.

The Dutch pavilion at the expo is called 'Vertical Growth' and was created by the Dutch design company Storeage.

The structure form simulates upward rotation, choosing metal structural materials for the greenhouse, expressing the concept of 'vertical growth' through materials, structure, and visualization, paying tribute to the intelligence of the Netherlands in breeding, planting, and greenhouse cultivation.

At the same time, it also pays tribute to the iterative development and spiral vertical rise of innovation in Dutch scientific research and development, commercial development, and artistic creation.

Just as the beauty of Dutch flowers is renowned worldwide, relying on the globally leading technologies in breeding, planting, and automation. Dutch design follows suit, combining innovation with practical functionality to empower business and services through avant-garde, artistic expression.

Achterbosch Architecten, a Dutch architect firm, took inspiration from traditional Dutch housed to create 'Butterfly Village'. This project can be seen at the Pidu venua of the Expo.

The Netherlands, with its long-standing commitment to research and innovative solutions, has formed an industrial 'golden triangle' collaborative mechanism involving government, private enterprises, and research institutions. This collaboration aims to develop innovative and efficient agriculture (horticulture) by producing high-quality agricultural products while reducing resource consumption and minimizing negative environmental impacts.

With the vision of collaborative development, the Dutch horticultural industry will present itself at the Chengdu Expo with the Dutch Pavilion exhibition and roadshow. The following Dutch companies are joining:

On the afternoon of April 27th, we invited representatives and experts from companies interested in the Dutch horticulture sector to join us in the Dutch Horticulture Roadshow.
