Romania hosts the Future of Agro-Food Production International Conference
On 24 April, the Consulate of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Iasi, in partnership with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Romania and the University of Life Sciences "Ion Ionescu de la Brad" Iasi (USV Iasi), organizes the International Conference: "The Future of Agri-Food Production", which aims to present a holistic approach to sustainable agri-food production processes.
The event will take place on Wednesday, 24 April 2024, starting at 09:30, in the Aula Magna of the University of Life Sciences of Iasi and will bring together national and international experts, entrepreneurs, farmers and representatives of university education to discuss about the future of agri-food production.
In recent years, the agri-food sector has faced various challenges. Global population growth, climate change, human migration, humanitarian crises triggered by war aggressions, pandemics, have created a framework of vulnerability that calls for rapid interventions to ensure food security. Global food crises, dwindling supplies of drinking water, pollution and loss of biodiversity require concrete mitigation measures that meet global sustainable development goals.
In this context, we will discuss with our renowned guests, new research in the field, innovations and precision technologies to increase the efficiency of production processes in the food chain, we will present some models of best practices of sustainable agriculture, as well as the performance of successful entrepreneurs in the agri-food sector.
