The importance of the port is also due to the strategic naval connections with the Danube, as well as rail and road connections’, added Florin Vizan.

This year, the Romanian Government and the Port Administration have invested hundreds of millions of euros to increase the port's capacity, and private companies with port activities have also increased their investments. These include the rehabilitation of the port's rail infrastructure, road infrastructure, as well as projects to modernise the electricity distribution infrastructure and public services.
