Indonesia Notifies to WTO the Draft Regulation on the International Cooperation on Halal Product Assurance
On December 1, 2021, the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs notified draft regulation G/TBT/N/IDN/139 to the WTO TBT Committee. This draft explains the implementation of international cooperation which will be applied based on the agreements between countries which include the development of technology, human resources and infrastructure for halal products assurance, and mutual acceptance and recognition of conformity assessment result. Foreign Halal Institutions must comply to requirements to be able to cooperate with BPJPH.
The comment deadline on the measure regarding International Cooperation on Halal Product Assurance is January 30, 2022. Comments can be sent to Indonesia’s TBT Enquiry Point at tbt.indonesia@gmail.com and tbt.indonesia@bsn.go.id
