Turkey and Sudan sign Agriculture Cooperation Protocol
Turkish Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Mehmet Hadi Tunç and his Sudanese counterpart, Abdurrahman Hater, signed a protocol for agricultural cooperation. “Our goal is to encourage Turkish businesspeople to invest in agriculture in Sudan and to ensure exchange of technical capacity between the ministries of two countries".
The Protocol
The Turkish delegation led by Tunç first met with the Sudanese Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Tahir Mohammed Harbi. Following the negotiations held at the level of deputy ministers, Tunç and Hater signed the cooperation protocol.
The protocol contains articles on a pilot farm, seed production, agricultural research, agricultural diseases, boosting production and training.
During the press conference held after the signing ceremony, Tunç said the articles of an agreement signed by two countries in 2014 were reviewed and turned into a memorandum of understanding during the two-day negotiations.
“We will be pleased to share our agricultural experience with friendly and brotherly Sudan,” Tunç said. .”
