First Yunnan Flowers Exported Since the Beginning of 2020
Following the coronavirus outbreak, the majority of flights at Changshui International Airport in Yunnan province are kept on the ground. The limited cargo capacity makes it very difficult for fresh flowers to be exported abroad. But now it seems that (local) authorities and business have bundled their forces to find ways to bring fresh-cuts to the market as soon as possible.
With the collaboration of both the Kunming and Chongqing Customs Departments, a Yunnan flower exporter transferred its products to Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport. According to the authorities, on August 10, Chongqing customs officials were waiting in the airport for the Yunnan flowers. Due to good preparations from all involved parties, it only took 20 minutes to wrap-up all customs procedures and to put the products on further transport.
It’s the first time this year that flowers from Chongqing are exported abroad. The cargo was made up of 52 thousand stems of 7 types of fresh-cuts worth a total value of 25 thousand US dollars.
