Ethiopia and the Netherlands signed a grant agreement worth over 15.9 M Euros
Ethiopia and the Netherlands have signed a grant agreement worth over 15.9 million Euros. This agreement is to be used to support the project "Integrated Landscape Management and WASH" in Kunzila area (near Bahir Dar). Together with the North Achefer Woreda Authorities and the Amhara Regional Governement, the Water and Land Resources Centre of Addis Ababa University and SNV will be implementing partners for the project.
The project will focus on ensuring the overall benefit of the local community in landscape management, water and sanitation and water services improvement and increasing agricultural productivity. The project will also strengthen the capacity of community-based institutions and organizations.
Furthermore, the project will help to manage the region's natural resources in a sustainable manner and support the construction of community-based safe drinking water in urban and rural areas and the modernization of sewage and sanitation system.
