Romania Exports Account for 16% of Transavia’s Revenue (Poultry)
Transavia group, which comprises the company by the same name in Alba County and Avicola Brasov, exported EUR25 million worth in 2018, 19% higher than in 2017, ZF has calculated from the information it supplied.
Exports therefore account for some 16% of the company’s revenue, which stood at EUR158 million in 2018, 9% higher than in 2017. Transavia ranks seventh among the largest exporters of food and beverages in 2018, led by Smithfield, Olympus and Chipita. Moreover, it ranks 403rd among the 500 largest exporters in the country.
The Transavia group, the largest poultry producer in Romania, has an integrated business - poultry farms, slaughterhouses, feed plant and meat processing plant.
Transavia raises about 40 million heads of poultry a year, or two chickens per each person in Romania and makes about 70,000 of chicken a year. The group has more than 2,000 employees and its owner is Ioan Popa.
