G4AW incoming mission to Myanmar

A strategic incoming mission from the Netherlands ‘the Geodata for Agriculture and Water Facility (G4AW)’, is currently in Myanmar for an official field visit and strategic engagements with partner organizations.

Geodata for Agriculture and Water G4AW

The overarching goal of G4AW is to promote and support investments for large scale, demand driven and satellite based information services. It aims to provide a platform for partnership of public organizations, research institutes, private sector operators, NGOs, farmer cooperatives, satellite data/service operators, businesses and transmission operations, developing space for food security.

G4AW in Myanmar

In Myanmar, there are 2 G4AW projects running since 2018, in partnership with AWBA Group and Impact Terra. The focus areas of their projects are in Mandalay Region, Bago Region and Shan State. G4AW delegation plans a field visit to project areas, discussion sessions with relevant organizations and Government departments to oversee the collaboration while in Myanmar, from 13-19 January. 

Netherlands Space Office (NSO) is the executing agency for the G4AW facility, commissioned by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. NSO granted 23 projects in 14 G4AW partner countries including Myanmar.
