Last week Royal De Heus acquired their second compound feed plant in Serbia, making them the biggest producer in animal feed in the region.
What is Royal De Heus?
Royal De Heus is a Dutch family owned business that produces nutritional products for animals. The company was founded in 1911 and has since grown into an international leading producer of various types of animal feeds, concentrates and premixes. The new plant acquired by the company has strengthened its leading position in Serbia. They hold over 65 per cent of the market and are expanding their sales to other countries in the region. Besides buying the new facility in Komponenta, De Heus has also pursued extensive investments into their existing plant in Sabac. All these investments made by Royal De Heus were done from their own budget.
The move also showcases the promising potential of the animal husbandry sector. The growing demand for high quality cattle, polutry and pig feeds is increasing fast in Serbia, and with two production plants De Heus will be able to adapt to this trend.
De Heus' new plant will be renovated to meet the company's high quality standards and is expected to be operational by the end of 2018. To read the press release and find out more about the company's activities, click here.
