With this event, LPPOM MUI would like to improve the Competitiveness of Indonesian Products through Halal Certification, together with Ministry of Trade, Halal Product Assurance Dilution (BPJPH), Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (Badan POM), and Indonesian Food and Beverage Entrepreneurs Association (GAPMMI).
In the previous time, Halal certificate was considered as a trade barrier. Now it is treated and valued as positive point for Indonesian trade system. The Halal certificate must be easier procedures for SMEs and they have to be prioritized for assistance. Interesting new export markets for Indonesia are : Middle East, other Islamic countries. The same goes for halal products from the Netherlands.
In the Netherlands 3 Halal institutions are active;
- Halal Feed and Food Inspection Authority (HFFIA), in The Hague.
- Halal Quality Control also in The Hague.
- Total Quality Halal Correct Certification (TQHCC), in Leiden.
