The Korean Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs commissioned Wageningen Food and Biobased Research (WFBR) earlier this year to conduct a feasibility study on a food hub in Saemangeum, a reclaimed area in Korea. However, the current state of the Korean agrologistics sector and its potential opportunities remain unclear. To address this, the agricultural department of the Netherlands Embassy in Seoul tasked WFBR with a quick scan of the agrologistics sector.

WFBR employed a SWOT analysis to assess the agrologistics ecosystem, examining factors such as local production, the agri-food landscape, trade positioning and infrastructure, logistics services, and institutional culture. Additionally, WFBR proposed several strategic entry approaches for Dutch businesses and knowledge institutions.
