Strategies to sustain agricultural growth in the wake of Typhoon Yagi
In the aftermath of Typhoon Yagi, which caused significant damage in northern and central Vietnam, authorities are implementing measures to support agricultural growth and recovery. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) is focusing on assessing the damage to crops and livestock, providing assistance to affected farmers, and ensuring food security.
Key actions include mobilizing resources for repair and rehabilitation, encouraging farmers to replant and diversify crops, and providing financial support for affected households. MARD emphasizes the importance of timely intervention to minimize losses and stabilize production.
Additionally, the government is working to enhance disaster preparedness and resilience in the agricultural sector, aiming to mitigate future impacts of extreme weather events. This comprehensive approach seeks to maintain growth and ensure the sustainability of agricultural practices in the face of ongoing climate challenges.
