Join the 2025 Farm Robotics Challenge in the United States!
The Farm Robotics Challenge is an annual competition that invites student teams from universities and colleges across the world to tackle real-world agricultural challenges. Applications are due December 12.
3rd Farm Robotics Challenge
University of California Agriculture and Natural Resources (UCANR) and AI Institute for Next Generation Food Systems are launching Year 3 of the Farm Robotics Challenge – an annual competition for undergraduate and graduate student teams. Through the challenge, teams identify and solve real-world agricultural problems using cutting-edge robotics or drone technology.
Who can participate?
- Undergraduate and graduate students from accredited universities and colleges, including 2-year colleges.
- Professors and academic staff can serve as mentors or advisors.
Why participate?
Over a period of 4 to 5 months, student teams employ and develop the latest AI, automation, and robotics tools to solve on-farm problems. Check out this video featuring past FRC participants.
Students will gain Skill Development, including hands-on experience in robotics, artificial intelligence, and agricultural science. Work on real-world projects that challenge you to apply your theoretical knowledge.
Students will have the opportunity to connect with industry leaders, academic experts, and like-minded peers and have real-world Impact by contributing to sustainable and efficient farming practices. Your innovations could have a lasting impact on small-scale farming.
Prizes include:
