NL trade delegation heads to the Pacific Northwest to explore opportunities in the seafood sector

The goal of the NL trade delegation's visit to the Pacific Northwest, which will take place from September 19-27, 2024, is to establish new contacts, meet potential business partners, and expand the international network in the seafood sector.

Knowledge exchange and new inspiration

Moreover, the delegation from the Dutch town of Urk is also interested in exchanging knowledge with their American counterparts on product development, processing innovations and to gain new inspiration regarding seafood products and their potential applications.

The delegation includes representatives from Urk Seafood, Dayseaday, Seafood Connection, Azur Seafood, FishQ, Diepvries Urk, Ocean Company, Live Seafood, Fiskano, IB Food-Machines, Profinis Accountants and Advisors, the Flevoland Development Agency Horizon, the Municipality of Urk, the Province of Flevoland and the Netherland Embassy in Washington, DC. Urk Seafood’s communication partner, SPIKKER, will accompany the group to provide on-site reporting of the trade mission.

The trade mission is organized at the invitation of the Western U.S. Agricultural Trade Association (WUSATA), the Oregon Department of Agriculture, and the Alaska Seafood Trade organization and is in collaboration with Flevoland Horizon and the LVVN-team at the Netherlands Embassy in Washington, DC.

The group will meet in Seattle, WA with the Wild Alaska Sole Association, Genuine Alaska Pollock Producers, and the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute. The program in Oregon will include visits to seafood processing facilities, a tour of the Seafood Lab of Oregon State University and a roundtable with local and state representatives.
