Broader international participation encouraged at FPC Fresh Awards 2022
The Fresh Produce Consortium (FPC), the UK’s fresh produce trade association, is calling on individuals and businesses throughout the world to enter into the 2022 edition of its prestigious FPC Fresh Awards, which will be taking place on 8 July 2022 at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House Hotel in London. All those involved in trading fresh produce, cut flowers and plants within the UK market are invited to enter multiple award categories, plus overseas suppliers can showcase their offer at an inaugural reception.
The annual awards recognise the excellence and innovation of all those who operate within the UK supply chain of fresh produce, cut flowers and plants; from the best growers and suppliers to the finest service providers, exceptional marketers and distinguished personnel from across the globe.
This year, FPC is eager to honour and celebrate the increasingly global nature of the UK’s produce trade. The association is inviting a broader international participation across its 16 awards categories, which span Individuals, the Supply Chain, Retail Excellence and Business Excellence.
For 2022, there are four brand new awards:
Nigel Jenney, CEO of FPC, explains:
“FPC Fresh Awards 2022 is an unparalleled opportunity to truly stand out from the crowd within the highly competitive UK marketplace. Any international individual or business with UK trading links could be in with a chance of winning one of our highly-sought-after accolades. This year we are casting the net far and wide as we seek to celebrate the amazing people, outstanding achievements and exceptional best practices of all businesses that trade fresh produce, cut flowers and plants within the UK. That includes traditional as well as non-traditional businesses located both in the UK and abroad. The UK marketplace is becoming ever more global in nature and FPC wishes to acknowledge the hard-workers and trailblazers who represent the driving force of this incredible trade. In turn, the winners will be recognised as the industry’s very best and thereby remain attractive to new business and recruitment opportunities. Don’t delay, enter today!”
To be eligible, entrants must be involved in trading fresh produce, cut flowers and plants within the UK marketplace. This includes: overseas growers, local producers, global exporters, domestic importers, packers and packaging suppliers, local ports and international shipping or logistics providers, UK-wide wholesalers and foodservice distributors, science labs and chemical manufacturers worldwide, as well as marketers at home and abroad.
Supplier Showcase
In addition, any overseas supplier of fresh produce, cut flowers or dried fruit and nuts to the UK is invited to present their offer to UK buyers at an inaugural Supplier Showcase on the awards evening of 8 July 2022. During this friendly and relaxed drinks reception, exporters, country representative bodies and Embassies will have the opportunity to either kickstart or strengthen their UK trading relationship via informal conversations with buyers and retailers.
