Invitation to the Thai – Dutch Alternative Protein Seminar 2024 in Bangkok

If you are active players and interested in the alternative protein sector, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Bangkok, together with our agri-food alliances in Thailand, invites you to participate in the “Thai – Dutch Alternative Protein Seminar 2024” on Wednesday, 25th September 2024, in Bangkok.

Alternative Protein in Thailand & Future Food Security Landscape

During the “Thai – Dutch Proteins Transition Seminar 2023” in Bangkok, experts shared their opinion that global climate change and the increasing population will accelerate the protein transition in the agri-food system. Alternative proteins (insect-based and plant-based) could play an essential role in the future landscape of the food security ecosystem. However, the challenge for alternative proteins is to enhance consumer acceptance and perception. More R&D for nutritional value, healthy diets, and palatability is needed.

The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, in collaboration with Kasetsart University, The Mushroom Researchers and Growers Society of Thailand, the Biotech Industry Club – The Federation of Thai Industries, the Thai Insect Industry Association, and the Thai Future Food Trade Association, invites you to explore “Alternative Protein in Thailand & Future Food Security Landscape” by participating in the “Thai – Dutch Alternative Protein Seminar 2024” on Wednesday, 25th September 2024 (13:00 – 16:30 hrs) at The Crystal Box, Gaysorn Urban Resort, Gaysorn Tower (19th FL.), Ploenchit Rd., Bangkok.

A shift towards a diet with more plant-based proteins and fewer animal-based proteins is better for the environment and healthier for most Dutch people. The policy of the Dutch government aims at the shift towards a diet with more plant-based proteins and fewer animal-based proteins, known as the protein transition. For most Dutch people, the protein transition can be implemented without causing nutrient deficiencies.
