Communique East African Community meeting on 12 May 2020

The Heads of States of the East African Community held a meeting on 12 May 2020, which resulted in a number of measures and resolutions to address the COVID-19 pandemic as well as facilitating trade within the region.

Among the Directives from this meeting was for the Ministers responsible for Health, Transport and East African Community Affairs to immediately work on a regional mechanism for testing and certification of truck drivers prior to their departure at the point of origin and every two weeks.
