Slovakia: new cabinet and Minister for Agriculture
On Saturday March 21 a new government was inaugurated in Slovakia following the elections on February 29. A new minister of Agriculture has been appointed as well, mr Ján Mičovský. Ján Mičovský is a member of OLaNO, the center-right party of prime minister Matovic and the largest party in parliament.
Mičovský is a Slovak forester and an anti-corruption activist who became a MP in 2012 (OLaNO). OLaNO is the center-right party of prime minister Matovic and the largest party in parliament. In 2010 he received the White crow award “for a principled and moral stance, tirelessness and the ability to mobilize public attention and support in the corruption case with SR Forests”. In addition, Mičovský is a founder of the Tree Day Festival and the Forestry Open Air Museum; initiator of the Ďurek Langsfeld award for anti-corruption activists; representative of the Citizens' Association Come and Know; and founding member of SOS - Slovak Conservation Association.
