New EU funds for Romanian investments in fruit growing
The Romanian Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MADR) has just announced the imminent launching of the project call for investment measure DR-15 - Investments in fruit farms, an important intervention of the CAP Strategic Plan 2023 - 2027. This initiative contributes to the achievement of some specific CAP objectives, i.e. increasing the competitiveness of fruit farms through the provision of machinery and equipment, the establishment, modernisation and/or extension of processing units, the establishment of orchards, the conversion of existing orchards and the increase of the area occupied by fruit tree nurseries.
The session will run from 8 January 2024, 09.00 to 30 April 2024, 16.00.
The financial allocation for the project submission session is 151,383,527 Euro of which:
Component setting up and modernisation of fruit holdings – 142,383,527 Euro
Component setting up and modernisation of fruit tree nurseries – 9,000,000 Euro
Beneficiaries of this session are farmers (except natural persons), agricultural cooperatives and cooperative societies serving the interests of their members, producer groups and organisations recognised by MADR, established under the national legislation in force and serving their interests.
The non-reimbursable support granted through intervention DR-15 is of maximum 65% of the eligible costs, not exceeding €1,500,000/project, except for projects involving the purchase of agricultural machinery and equipment, the cost of which may not exceed €300,000.
MADR hopes to receive many innovative projects that can contribute to the sustainable development of the fruit sector in Romania.
