Lidl consolidated its position as top employer at national level and, for the fifth year, obtained the certification Top Employer, granted by the Top Employers institute from Netherlands. Between the 7th and the 20th of December 2020, in collaboration with the Food Banks network, Lidl developed a food collection campaign for the second year, to support people in difficulty.
Mega Image (Ahold-Delhaize) finished 2020 with 89 stores opened at national level, reaching a total of 854 stores.
Kaufland Romania contributed with 250.000 euro for the construction of Intensive Care Modular Hospital of Piatra Neamt, at the initiative Together for Moldova! launched to help the hospital affected by the fire of November 2020.
E-commerce
foodpanda, the biggest online platform of food orders in Romania, announced the launch of pandamart, a concept of own stores (physical) from which the users of foodpanda can order directly from the platform, with a delivery of maximum 30 minutes.

2020, the year that stayed under the sign of the pandemic, has been for the food retail the year of anniversaries, in which Mega Image turned 25 years of activity on the Romanian market, Profi 20 years of activity and Kaufland 15 years of activity.
In December 2020, in grocery retail in Romania 62 stores were opened.
Even if the FMCG industry in Romania registered a raise in value of 12% in the first half of the year 2020, according to GfK Romania, the companies from the industries have faced with many challenges in 2020, a year that stayed under the sign of the pandemic.
Studies
Reveal Marketing Research, the market research company, launched the Romanian TODAY Barometer, a study about the evolution of emotions and priorities of Romanians in 2020, a year that have been in the pandemic context.
