Romania: Poultry Producer Transavia Gets 20% of Its Revenue from Exports to Europe and Africa
Transavia, the largest poultry producer in Romania, gets 20% of its revenue from exports, its 2019 sustainability report shows.
The group with more than 2,000 employees run by Ioan Popa, posted more than EUR165 million revenue in 2019, so EUR33 million came from sales abroad. Transavia is currently exporting to 17 European countries, such as UK, Ireland, France, Netherlands, Hungary, Greece, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Italy, Spain and Croatia. It also exports to Africa.
“Sustainable consolidation of Transavia’s business is one of our main concerns in order to have a sound and prosper business (…),” said Theodora Popa, vice-president of Transavia group.
Investments stood at EUR25 million in 2019 and were self-funded and directed to boosting production capacity, cementing market leading position, retooling and upgrades of production facilities.
Transavia has 27 poultry farms and 4 vegetal farms, a feed plant with a production capacity of 250,000 tons a year, 3 slaughtering facilities with total capacity of 100,000 tons a year and meat processing facility.
