Farmland Prices In Romania Reach EUR10,000/Ha; Trading Trend Is High
Farmland prices in Romania range from EUR2,500 to EUR10,000 per hectare, depending on their site, and the trading trend will remain high in 2018 too, after a total 100,000 hectares were traded in 2017, Robert Rekkers, general manager of Credit IFN, told an annual conference organized by Agricover.
Arable land prices have doubled and tripled in certain areas, since 2012, when Rekkers, a former banker, joined Agricover, and the growth trend will be kept until 2020, even if not at the rate registered so far.
The most expensive plots of land are in counties of Ilfov and Ialomita, ranging from EUR5,000 to EUR10,000 per hectare; in Arad, Timis and Caras-Severin, prices range from EUR6,000 to EUR8,500 per hectare, and in Calarasi, from EUR4,000 to EUR8,000 per hectare.
In Botosani and Iasi, prices range from EUR3,500 to EUR7,000/hectare, in Braila, from EUR5,000 to EUR7,000/hectare; in Satu Mare and Bihor, from EUR4,000 to EUR7,000/hectare; in Brasov, Harghita and Covasna, from EUR4,000 to EUR7,000/hectare; in Buzau, Prahova and Dambovita, from EUR4,000 to EUR7,000/hectare; in Tulcea and Constanta, from EUR4,000 to EUR7,000/hectare; in Vrancea and Galati, from EUR3,500 to EUR6,000/hectare; in Cluj, Alba and Hunedoara, from EUR3,500 to EUR5,500/hectare; in Mures and Sibiu, from EUR4,000 to EUR5,500/hectare; in Dolj and Olt, from EUR4,500 to EUR5,500/hectare; in Maramures, Salaj and Bistrita Nasaud, from EUR2,500 to EUR5,000/hectare; in Gorj and Mehedinti, from EUR2,500 to EUR5,000/hectare; in Teleorman and Giurgiu, from EUR3,000 to EUR6,000/hectare; in Suceava, Neamt and Bacau, from EUR3,500 to EUR5,000/hectare; in Valcea and Arges, from EUR2,500 to EUR4,000/hectare; in Vaslui, EUR2,500 to EUR4,000/hectare.
Rekkers expects prices to rise on average of 10% in 2018.
