Harvest in Poland - First reports indicate high winter wheat yields
Polish farmers have started harvesting winter wheat, and the first reports indicate high yields of this grain of 9-11 t/ha, according to the Grain and Feed Chamber.
The so-called "small harvest", i.e. harvesting of winter barley and winter rapeseed, is underway in Poland, but the advancement of harvesting varies regionally.
According to estimates by the Grain and Feed Chamber, winter barley has been harvested nationwide from more than 80% of the crop's acreage.
Harvesting of winter rapeseed is advanced, especially in the southwest of the country, where rapeseed has been harvested from about 30 % of the acreage. Early indications point to high seed oiliness.
