Restoring nature in Ukraine: a visit to Beremytske nature park
Recently, the agricultural team from the Dutch Embassy in Ukraine visited the park to witness its innovative approach to rewilding. Partnered with Dutch organizations like ARK Nature and Rewilding Europe, Beremytske is transforming former agricultural lands into thriving ecosystems, showcasing the power of natural grazing and ecotourism to rebuild what was once lost. Despite the challenges posed by the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, the park remains resilient, offering guided tours, conference facilities, and overnight stays for those looking to connect with nature and explore sustainable restoration in action.
The agricultural team of the embassy visited the Beremytske Nature Park. This beautiful park is a 500-hectare nature conservation area in Chernihiv Oblast, on the left bank of the Desna river. Among the wildlife in the Nature Park are the stunning Koniks horses and the impressive Hake cattle.
Having overcome the challenges caused by the large-scale invasion, the park is open for visitors and develop ecotourism. You can visit the park by ordering an excursion tour, as well as stay in the park for a few days, enjoying the beauty of the landscape and communicating with nature. The park has all the necessary infrastructure for organizing conferences or corporate events.
You can visit the park on a guided tour as we did, stay over and enjoy the beauty of the landscapes or organize a conference or teambuilding activity in the conference hall. Only established in 2017, the main goal is the restoration of ecosystems through the implementation of rewilding methods by natural grazing.
