From March 27, Poland has changed the rules for brining pets from Ukraine, the press service of the Main Veterinary Inspectorate of the country reports.

It is noted that according to the new rules for the import of animals into Poland, the animals being moved must comply with the requirements of European Union legislation.

In particular, dogs, cats and ferrets, in accordance with the standard procedure, will be able to accompany travelers if the animal is correctly identified by a microchip, has a valid rabies vaccination, a current serological test to determine the titer of anti-rabies antibodies, and a health certificate in accordance with the sample, established by EU law, or in certain cases, a valid passport issued in one of the EU member states.

"In order to facilitate movement within the EU, until further notice, the Polish authorities will not require a 90-day waiting period from the date of blood sampling to check the anti-rabies antibody titer in the blood serum if the test result is satisfactory (> 0.5 IU/ml) and is indicated in the animal health certificate," the message says.

It clarifies that in the animal health certificate, the Ukrainian official veterinarian must cross out the corresponding assurance about the 90-day waiting period, putting his signature and seal with the name on the margins of the crossed-out assurance.

"Documentation on passing the examination must be attached to the health certificate," the inspectorate summed up.

Пам’ятка для власників тварин, які планують поїздки в інші країни.

При перетині кордонів, при ввозі або транзиті, всі собаки і коти повинні мати ветеринарні сертифікати, де вказано, що дані тварини щеплені проти сказу і перевірені на наявність антитіл в реакції нейтралізації не раніше 30 днів після вакцинації і не пізніше трьох місяців до відправлення.

Державний науково-дослідний інститут з лабораторної діагностики і ветеринарно-санітарної експертизи входить в список сертифікованих лабораторій, які проводять дослідження сироваток крові на наявність антитіл проти сказу. Сироватки для дослідження повинні відбиратися лікарем ветеринарної медицини в стерильні поліпропіленові пробірки, які загвинчуються в кількості - не менше 0,5 -1,0 мл. Транспортувати сироватки необхідно на льоду в термоконтейнері (термосі). При доставці сироватки в лабораторію необхідно мати супровідний документ, який пише лікар ветмедицини. Дослідження проводиться тільки після сплати рахунку, який виписується під час прийому зразка сироватки. Вартість дослідження 1214 грн.05 коп. Якщо розрахунок за дослідження проводиться за реквізитами банку до здачі сироватки на дослідження, квитанція про сплату повинна бути надана разом з супровідним документом.

Можливе надсилання сироваток в термоконтейнері (термосі) експрес-поштою або кур’єрскою поштою разом з супровідним документом, копіями закордонного паспорту власника, міжнародного паспорту тварини і квитанцією про оплату дослідження. Для отримання рахунку необхідно передзвонити по вказаному телефону або по електронній пошті дати № факсу (будь-якого, доступного для Вас). Рахунок буде надісланий по факсу. Можна розрахуватися за реквізитами банку без отримання рахунку.

Результат дослідження виписується на офіційному бланку українською і англійською мовами. Вся інформація, яка стосується власника, тварини, вакцинації береться з супровідного документа. Всі дані в супровідному документі повинні бути написані чітко, розбірливо, бажано друкованими літерами. Під час здачі проб на дослідження при собі необхідно мати копії закордонного паспорту власника і міжнародного паспорту тварини.

Будь ласка, перевірте правильність написання в супровідному документі всіх даних і відповідність написання англійською мовою прізвища власника - закордонному паспорту власника і клички тварини – міжнародному паспорту тварини.

Інформація, яка надана в супровідному документі, не може бути потім змінена!

Проби сироваток без ідентифікаційного номеру тварини(мікрочипу) і проби, непридатні для дослідження (гемолізовані) або ті, які надійшли з порушенням цілісності контейнера (пробірки), утилізуються і дослідженню не підлягають.

Термін дослідження – 14 днів (в разі необхідності термін може бути збільшений до 3-4 тижнів, про що власник буде повідомлений завчасно).

ID, an microchip applied before the first rabies vaccination or a readable tattoo if applied before July 2011.

Veterinary certificate according to Regulation (EU) nr. 577/2013) issued by an official veterinarian from the country the animal is travelling from. Or an EU Animal Passport according to Regulation (EU) nr. 577/2013 when the animal originates from the EU.

A blood sample testing the rabies antibody level, must be drawn at least 30 days after vaccination against rabies

The blood sample must be tested by an EU approved laboratory.

The result of the rabies antibody level test must be at least 0,5 IE/ml.

If the result of the test is good, meaning 0,5 IE/ml or higher, the dog or cat can enter the EU after another three (3) months after the blood drawing. This period is for the possible presence of rabies despite the vaccination and positive blood test.

This 3-month period shall not apply to the re-entry of an EU pet animal whose passport certifies that the titration was carried out, with a positive result, before the animal left the territory of the EU.

The antibody test does not need to be renewed on a pet animal which has been revaccinated against rabies before the validity of the previous vaccination expires.

Note: Young dogs, cats and ferrets are at least 7 months of age (3 months after birth + 1 month later blood test + 3 months excluding possible presence of rabies) before they may travel to the Netherlands.
