New measurements regarding custom clearance in Morocco
The Moroccan Customs Administration has announced the establishment of a system for the settlement of import duties and taxes by any means provided for by the regulations in force, including the electronic process, thus putting an end to any possibility of payment by cash for commercial transactions.
Following the new provisions of the 2018 Finance Act, relating to the payment of customs duties and other duties and taxes due on importation, the provisions of Article 95 of the Customs Code have been repealed and replaced by this provision which came into effect on January 1, 2018. It should be noted that cash payments are still allowed for "occasional" transactions.
