Simone Landhuis is sinds september 2023 LNV-raad voor de Golfstaten. Na haar studie Internationale Betrekkingen in Utrecht is zij in het bedrijfsleven gaan werken en vervolgens bij het ministerie van Buitenlandse Zaken in dienst getreden. Al meer dan twintig jaar werkt zij in de diplomatieke dienst. In eerdere plaatsingen was zij werkzaam op de ambassades in Venezuela, Rusland, Nicaragua en Mexico. Tussendoor heeft zij vier jaar bij het Directoraat Generaal Buitenlandse Economische Betrekkingen gewerkt en zich bezig gehouden met topsectorenbeleid en bedrijfslevenprogramma’s. In haar vorige plaatsing was zij plaatsvervangend Ambassadeur voor Koeweit en Bahrein en heeft zij de Golfregio goed leren kennen. Naast politiek en veiligheid heeft zij zich vooral bezig gehouden met thema’s als energie, water en voedsel. Zij zet zich in om duurzame en innovatieve oplossingen te bieden voor de klimaat- en voedselzekerheidsproblematiek in de Golfregio. Lees hier het interview met Simone Landhuis.

With over ten years of experience in translation and interpretation, four of which at the Embassy of The Netherlands in Riyadh, Ismail moved to LAN’s Gulf States team in May 2023, as the Agricultural Officer. He facilitates the communication and exchange of information between the Dutch and GCC stakeholders, assists in identifying opportunities for Dutch Agro-Food businesses, and helps Dutch businesses overcome challenges they might face in the region.

Nienke Gelderloos has been based in the UAE since 2019, working on private sector engagement in megaprojects Expo 2020 and COP28 in the so-called Water, Energy and Food Nexus. In 2024, she went back to her food & agricultural roots as Agricultural Advisor, building on a background of 10+ years in commercial roles at multinationals in food ingredients and as Agricultural Advisor in Singapore. In the LAN team, Nienke is working on relevant themes for a better world in the UAE like food security, sustainable agriculture, biodiversity, capacity building, innovation and trade promotion.
