At the end of each month, the Agricultural team at the Dutch Embassy in Addis Ababa publishes the Agri newsletter, Dutchiopia. We are pleased to inform you that the seventh edition for the year 2024 has been released! This issue of Dutchiopia Agri News provides an in-depth look at significant economic reforms and developments in the Ethiopian agriculture sector for July.

In this edition’s publications section, you will find detailed information on recent foreign exchange reforms, including Ethiopia's significant transition to a market-based exchange regime ,the lifting of import prohibitions and the opening of the country's securities market to international investors. Additionally, the updated Value Added Tax (VAT) Proclamation, aimed at promoting savings and investment and the Ethiopian Capital Market Authority's new directive on licensing for securities exchanges and over-the-counter markets are discussed.
