NL Business Lounge on SIPSA FILAHA & AGROFOOD 2023
Are you active in the horticulture sector? Are you interested in exploring new opportunities in Algeria or do you want to further develop the market? The 21th edition of SIPSA-FILAHA & AGROFOOD, one of the main agricultural exhibitions in Algeria, will take place from May 22 to 25, 2023 in Algiers. The embassy of the Netherlands is present with an NL Business Lounge. Dutch companies are invited to join us.
The Algerian market
Algeria has a population of 44 million inhabitants, annually growing with nearly 1 million people. The Algerian government is promoting growth of local production and modernization of the sector in order to replace food imports, both in the livestock sector and in plant crops. The Algerian market presents great business opportunities in different sectors: horticulture, dairy farming, poultry and others. Last January the embassy published a study on opportunities in Algerian greenhouse horticulture, showing interesting opportunities for Dutch companies as the knowledge and technology level are still relatively low.
Algeria is looking for technology and knowledge to modernize its agriculture. The Netherlands enjoys an excellent reputation as a country providing high quality products and services and can take advantage of opportunities offered by the Algerian market.
The SIPSA-FILAHA & AGROFOOD 2023
The annual SIPSA FILAHA Fair is a professional Algerian exhibition dedicated to the agricultural sector. In 2022, SIPSA-FILAHA & AGROFOOD closed its 20th edition with a B2B audience of more than 20,000 visitors and 350 exhibitors, 25% of whom were from around thirty countries.
For the year 2023, the 21st edition looks promising with the resumption of economic exchanges, easier access to the local market for foreign companies after 2 complex years.
The Netherlands Business Lounge and programme
The agricultural team of the DutcheEmbassy in Algiers will be present with an NL Business Lounge, open to Dutch companies wishing to conquer the Algerian market. As a follow up of the aforementioned study the focus of the embassy’s participation in the exhibition is on sustainable horticulture.
Participating in the Netherlands Business Lounge means joining a group of Dutch companies and the embassy united under the “NL – solving global challenges together” banner, allowing you to increase your visibility with a targeted Algerian professional audience.
In addition to your presence in the business lounge, you can benefit from additional two activities, namely:
- A field visit in the provinces of Algiers and Tipaza on the afternoon of 25st of May, where the exhibiting companies will be able to get a better insight in horticulture in northern Algeria
- The possibility for participants to animate a workshop on sustainable horticulture in the afternoon of 24th of May in the NL Business Lounge
All the logistics of these additional activities will be taken care of by the embassy.
Participation fees
Dutch companies can benefit from the presence in the business lounge, the workshop and the field visits for a fixed amount of maximum 600 euro. In the business lounge, the use of table and chairs, electricity, coffee, tea and water are included. Travel and accommodation are at your own expense.
