From June 16-19th, 2025, the agricultural team is organizing together with Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) an innovation mission to Madrid. This mission is focused on water scarcity and optimization of water management in agriculture. Would you like to gain insight into advanced digital solutions to make irrigation more efficient and sustainable, reduce water footprint or encourage water reuse? Then join us on an innovation mission to Spain.

During the mission, you will find out how Spain is tackling water problems in agriculture, using new water sources and digital solutions, and adapting to the effects of climate change.
The program:
- focuses on the drier regions of Spain such as Murcia, where new water sources for agriculture, such as desalination and reuse of treated water, are largely used in arable and outdoor vegetable production.
- will pay special attention to the Spanish government's current digitisation strategy in combination with field visits to water facilities, leading research institutes and innovation centres.
This innovation mission is exploring equal cooperation in research and development for researchers and companies. The focus here is on collaboration and innovation in the chain.
Please consult the following website of RVO for registration and more information regarding the objectives, focus, prices, program etc. : Innovatiemissie Spanje: Digitalisering en waterschaarste in de landbouw | RVO.nl.
